Geelong Regional Libraries is excited to be part of Melbourne City of Literature's Virtual Writer in Residence program again. We're delighted to welcome Alice Eaves, one of ten writers across the UNESCO City of Literature network working with Victorian literary organisations.
Alice is a community-engaged writer, artist, and creative facilitator from Lancashire. She joins us from fellow City of Literature Edinburgh, Scotland, where she now lives and works. Her work focuses on myth, folklore, and connectivity to the landscape.
Alice is a runner-up for the Grierson Verse Prize, recipient of a Peshkar Artist Development Award and Director of the Ukraine Poetry Project, which aims to bring Ukrainian poets and translators' voices to the UK through publication.
She has been published or forthcoming with The Lit Platform, The Manchester Review, the University of St Andrews, and Forest Publications. Alice has just completed her MSc in Creative Writing at the University of Edinburgh.
Keep an eye on our website and social media for more about Alice's residency, including an upcoming writer's workshop and contribution to our World Poetry Day event in 2024.
