Schools and kindergartens

Our team is committed to working with other professionals to foster a love of reading from an early age. We strive to engage children and youth to help them experience the library space and gain confidence in their own ability to discover and explore.

Collaborating with educators at kindergartens and schools means we can help introduce young people to the library’s magical potential for learning and fun.

Planning your visit

Bookings are essential for all group bookings.

Geelong Library and Heritage Centre

Bookings are essential for all visits to Geelong Library as we have floor safety capacity limits.

Bus drop-off zones are located on Little Malop Street directly outside the main entry doors to the library or on Fitzroy Street at the front of The Gordon City Campus. Please note that the Fitzroy Street bus zone requires crossing the road and walking through Johnstone Park to reach the library.

Car parking is ticketed Monday to Friday in the Geelong CBD with parking inspectors making regular patrols.

Johnstone Park is located right outside the library and provides a great place to run and relax or have a picnic.

Public Café is located in the same building as the library with entries from Johnstone Park, Little Malop Street and from the library's ground floor. For more information about Public Café please click here.

Please note the Level 5 balcony, Wurdi Youang, and the Level 1 Terrace, Ngawirring ngiyt, are unavailable in wet or windy weather or if the Level 5 venue spaces have been hired out.
