Closures for festive season & Staff Day

As we approach the end of the year, we'd like to share upcoming changes to our times and days of operations with our communities.

Staff Day

Please note all library branches and mobile libraries will be closed for the morning of 16 December so staff can attend an annual staff training event,  and will open at 1pm (unless not normally open on Wednesday).

Christmas period – opening hours

Please find below opening hours for the upcoming festive period. The following operating hours affect all branch locations, but are subject to any current government COVID-19 restrictions.

Our mobile library services will be closed from Thursday 24 December 2020 to Sunday 3 January 2021, inclusive. Western Heights College Library will be as per the College arrangements.

  • Thursday 24 December 2020       Closing time 5pm (unless library not normally open until 5pm)
  • Friday 25 December 2020            Closed - Christmas Day
  • Saturday 26 December 2020        Closed - Boxing Day
  • Sunday 27 December 2020          Standard operating hours
  • Monday 28 December 2020         Closed (Boxing Day public holiday)
  • Tuesday 29 December 2020        Standard operating hours
  • Wednesday 30 December 2020    Standard operating hours
  • Thursday 31 December 2020       Closing time 5pm (unless library not normally open until 5pm)
  • Friday 1 January 2021                  Closed - New Years Day
  • Saturday 2 January 2021              Standard operating hours


Holiday opening hours at Western Heights College Library

From Saturday 19 December 2020 until Thursday 21 January 2021 (inclusive), Western Heights College Library will be operating holiday opening hours, which are: 

Mondays 9am – 3pm

Wednesdays 9am – 7pm

Saturdays 9am – 12noon
