Libraries re-opening Tuesday 9 June

Tuesday 26 May 2020

In line with recent Victorian Government advice, we are pleased to announce that Geelong Regional Libraries’ branches and mobile libraries will re-open to the public on Tuesday 9 June, with shorter opening hours. On Monday 6 July, normal library opening hours will resume.

The health and safety of our community and staff remains our priority as we re-open branches and resume some services. As such, there will be changes to the way libraries operate, including strict hygiene and social distancing rules, as well as time limits on library visits.

Library programming, live events and most outreach services remain suspended until further notice.

Return chutes at library branches will re-open from Monday 1 June, however chutes will only be open during branch operating hours.

Please note, due dates for all physical collection items will automatically be extended until 31 July 2020 and overdue fines will be waived during this period.

All library programs and live events remain suspended until further notice. However, you can view a range of virtual events and programs from the comfort of your home! Find out more on at Your Library @ Home.

Full details, including a list of frequently asked questions and answers can be found here.

We thank you for your continued understanding, patience and support as we re-open libraries and resume services.
