The public is advised that a staff member of the Geelong Regional Library Corporation has been diagnosed with a confirmed case of Chickenpox.
Unfortunately, people working at or visiting the Leopold or Ocean Grove Library branches recently may have been exposed to this virus in its contagious period, prior to the individual’s diagnosis.
Chickenpox is a communicable disease and generally considered mild, however it can have some rare but serious implications for certain members of our community. Further information regarding symptoms and risk factors can be found at this link. The vast majority of people will have immunity from a childhood case of Chickenpox or from immunisation, however please do take note of any symptoms described in the information.
If you feel at all unwell over the coming days with similar symptoms to those described, particularly if you have recently visited the Leopold Library or Ocean Grove Library, please seek medical advice.
