Winner announced for the 2023 Local Word Writing Prize

Geelong Regional Libraries and Deakin University are very pleased to announce the winner of the inaugural Local Word Writing Prize is Dani Netherclift, from Mansfield, Victoria, for her entry titled “Telephone and Address Book”.

Dani receives first place prize money of $2000 plus a one-hour mentoring session with a Deakin University writing practitioner.

Dani's entry was selected as the overall winner from the four shortlisted entries, with the remaining three Commended entrants receiving prize money of $250 each. These are:

The prizes were announced at the World Poetry Day event at Geelong Library & Heritage Centre. Congratulations to Dani and all shortlisted entrants!
