Support the library winter food drive

Monday 13 May 2024

We are proud to partner again with Geelong Food Relief Centre (GFRC) for the Library Winter Food Drive, allowing you to help local people experiencing food and financial insecurity this winter.

The GFRC is the heart of the emergency food system in Geelong and surrounding areas. They source and collect nutritious food, sharing it with frontline charities to feed people in need and strengthen our community. With a team of over 180 volunteers who contribute on average 650 hours a week, GFRC relies on your support to keep running. Your support is crucial in making a significant impact.

We'll be accepting donations on their behalf at all our libraries throughout the winter months. Geelong Food Relief will then distribute those donations throughout the local community.

You can donate packaged and non-perishable food items, paricularly canned goods, at any of our libraries from Monday 13 May, until Wednesday 31 August. Please see the Geelong Food Relief website for more information about what you can contribute.

Beyond this appeal, you can support GFRC in several ways, including donations, volunteering, or championing their cause in the Geelong area. Visit their website to find out how you can help.

We extend our gratitude to all our customers for any donations to support this appeal. Your contribution is invaluable.
