Are your little ones curious about the world? Do they want to know more about the night sky, or how sound travels? We’re excited to announce that library members can now borrow one of 12 different Spark! Discovery Boxes – themed, age appropriate science and nature kits. There are two ranges available: • Spark! Discover Boxes are designed for ages 8-12. Boxes include ‘Light and Colour’, ‘Mini Beasts’ and even a proper telescope! • Spark! Junior Boxes are designed for ages 3-5. Boxes include ‘Magnetism’, ‘Life Cycles’ and ‘Sound’. Each activity is carefully researched and comes with helpful notes to explain the activity. These boxes are designed to be used with adult supervision and participation – they’re a great family activity. These kits are currently available at the Geelong Library & Heritage Centre, however you can place a reservation online and the kit will be available for collection at your local branch or mobile library. Please note, as we anticipate high demand for these boxes the loan period is one week, with a limit of one kit per membership.
We encourage you to reserve a kit online - you will need your membership card and password.
These kits have been made available thanks to the support of Inspiring Australia - National Networks, The Royal Society of Victoria and State Government of Victoria Department of Jobs Precincts and Regions.
