Library Food Drive

The lead up to Christmas can be a time filled with joy and excitement. However, for many people in our region, it can be a stressful time.

We are proud to be partner with Geelong Food Relief Centre, Uniting Barwon, and Gen U this year for the Library Food Drive; giving you the chance to give back to the community and help those who need it.

Libraries will be accepting donations which will be distributed to local people who are experiencing food and financial insecurity.

In our previous Food For Fines appeal, generous library members donated two tonnes of food! Let's see if we can match it this year.

The Drive will run across several libraries. Please check the closing dates and items that can be accepted at each library as they vary slightly.

The following libraries are accepting donations of packaged and non-perishable food items, as well as sanitary products, until Wednesday 21 December.

  • Belmont
  • Colac (in partnership Gen U)
  • Geelong Library & Heritage Centre
  • Queenscliff
  • Drysdale
  • Geelong West
  • Newcomb
  • Ocean Grove
  • Highton
  • Bannockburn

  • Corio library is accepting donations of gifts and non-perishable food until Friday 9 December.

Donated food items should have an expiration date of May 2023 or later. Please see the Geelong Food Relief website for more information about what you can donate.

Thank you in advance to all our customers for donating generously to support the appeal.
