Join our fun Summer Scavenger Hunt, presented in partnership with the City of Greater Geelong.
Pop into one of the participating libraries to take part and go into the running to win some great prizes. Collect a paper form from any of the below libraries, explore your local neighbourhood and drop the completed form back in the box at the library. Each library has prizes to giveaway including Adventure Park, Oz Tenpin Geelong, Village Cinema, MOPA, Carousel, Swim Sport and Leisure Centre tickets!
The hunt will run from Tuesday 3 January - Saturday 21 January and is open to kids aged up to 12. All winners will be contacted by a library staff member on the email or phone number provided by 5pm on Monday 23 January, all prizes must be collected from the library.

2023 Sam’s Scavenger Hunt
TERMS AND CONDITIONS: Enter on behalf of your child and go into the draw for a chance to win one of the amazing prize packs. By participating in this competition, you agree to the following terms and conditions: Competition details 1. The promoter of this competition is the Greater Geelong City Council, 137-149 Mercer Street, Geelong VIC 3220, ABN 18 374 210 672 (City). 2. The competition opens at 9am on Tuesday 3 January 2023 and the competition closes at 1pm on Saturday 21 January 2023. 3. Entries received after the closing time and date will be deemed ineligible. Entries 4. Children must be 12 years old or under as of 1st January 2023. Entrants are the parents or guardians of the children. By entering into the competition, authorisation from parents is given to publish winning entries online and in participating libraries. Children’s first name only. 5. To enter this competition, you must complete the entry form. Under no circumstances will the City share any entrant’s personal information with any third parties, partners or affiliates. 6. By entering this competition, you warrant to the City that you are eligible to enter this competition based on these terms and conditions. 7. Entry into the competition is deemed acceptance of these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms and conditions, you should not enter the competition or accept any prize resulting from entry into the competition. 8. Employees and their immediate families of the City’s Family Services department and the Geelong Regional Library Corporation and those directly involved with this competition are ineligible to enter. 9. The City reserves the right, at any time, to verify the validity of entries and to disqualify any entrant who tampers with the entry process or who submits an entry that is not in accordance with these terms and conditions. Failure by the City to enforce any of its rights at any stage does not constitute a waiver of those rights. 10. The use of false names (being names by which the entrant is not usually known) or false addresses will result in disqualification. 11. Only one entry permitted per child which must include the parent or guardian Consent Form for the nominated child. 12. Incomplete, indecipherable or illegible entries will be deemed invalid. Prizes 13. There are a total of 28 prize packs shared equally across the seven participating libraries –Belmont, Corio, Drysdale, Lara, Newcomb, Ocean Grove and Waurn Ponds. Four prize packs will be awarded at each of the seven libraries, 14. The City reserves the right to request winners provide proof of identity to claim their prize. Identification considered suitable for verification is at the discretion of the promoter. 15. This prize is not transferable or redeemable for cash and cannot be assigned to another person. 17. Unless otherwise stated, all costs incurred by a winner to accept or use the prize are the responsibility of the winner.
Prize draw 18. There will be seven prize draws, each with four prize packs which will be randomly drawn on Monday 23rd January at each of the participating libraries. Winners will be notified by email or phone by 5pm on Monday 23rd January 2023. 19. Four winners will be drawn for each participating library. If the entry is in-complete, it will be deemed ineligible. 20. This decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into. 21. The winners will be notified by phone and email. 22. The finalists will be published online at www.grlc.vic.gov.au 23. The participants are required to collect the prizes from the participating library by Friday 27th January, unless other arrangements have been made. The prize will be deemed unclaimed if despite using reasonable efforts, to the prize has not been collected. 24. If this competition is interfered with in any way, or is not capable of being conducted as reasonably anticipated, due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the City (including vandalism, power failures, tempests, natural disasters, acts of God, civil unrest, strike or inclement weather), the City reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to the fullest extent permitted by law: a. to disqualify any entrant or b. to modify, suspend, terminate or cancel the competition, as appropriate. Disclaimer The City (including its officers, employees and agents) excludes all liability (including negligence) for any personal injury or any loss or damage (including loss of opportunity) whether direct, indirect, special or consequential, arising in any way out of the competition, including but not limited to, the following: 25. Any technical difficulties or equipment malfunction (whether or not under the City’s control) 26. Any theft, unauthorised access or third-party interference 27. Any entry, prize or claim for a prize that is late, lost, altered, damaged or misdirected (whether before or after receipt by the City) due to any reason beyond the reasonable control of the City 28. Any variation in prize value from that stated in these terms and conditions 29. Any tax liability (including FBT) incurred by an entrant or winner or use of the prize.
