Children at Meli Kindergartens across the region have decorated almost 3,000 paper hearts with messages of kindness.
These creations form the 'Hearts of Kindness' exhibition that is now on display across our library network, the Geelong Arts Centre, Geelong Gallery Gift Shop and the Colac Otway Performing Arts Centre.
Children were asked to reflect on the value of kindness and have created their miniature heart-shaped artworks in response, strung onto bunting and hung up around most of our libraries.
The project has helped to teach young children how to be kind, think about the needs of others, build connections and foster a sense of belonging at this important time of year.
This activity also supports Meli’s annual Geelong Giving Tree Appeal, with this year’s theme being ‘Open your heart and give kindness this Christmas”.
The exhibition is on display until 15 December at all our libraries (except Bannockburn and Vines Road).
For times to visit the exhibition, please check your local library opening hours.
