Following announcements of further easing of restrictions by the Victorian Premier on Sunday 6 December, we are pleased to share changes for libraries, the Heritage Centre and Mobile Libraries in line with Government directions, as summarised below.
Face coverings
Face coverings are no longer required to be worn by visitors or staff. However, per government directives, face coverings must be carried when leaving home and be worn when physical distancing cannot be maintained. See the Victorian Government COVIDSafe Summer requirements here.
Quarantining of library items ceased
Following the success of the Victorian response to COVID-19, we will be ceasing the quarantine of collection items as a step towards a COVIDSafe Summer. The removal of the quarantine will mean that collection items will become available for borrowing sooner and we thank our members for their patience over the last 6 months.
Visitor capacity limits
We are currently reviewing our visitor limits, and will share any changes as soon as we can. For now, the existing visitor limits apply.
Library visit time limits
Library visit time limits remain at 2 hours, except in times of high demand.
For further information about our library services at this time, including an overview of capacity limits in each branch and mobile library, please visit our Coronavirus information page.
The health and safety of staff and the broader community continues to be our priority, and we thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we navigate this period.
