We welcome all First Nations people in our community to participate in an oral history project funded by the Public Record Office Victoria [PROV] Local History Grants Program.
The purpose of this project is to highlight our diverse First Nations community members and their stories.
Recordings will be stored in the Kim barne thaliyu Geelong Heritage Centre archive. Traditional Owners and First Nations people living off Country are invited to participate.
Call for interviewer We seek a First Nations interviewer to guide, schedule and record informal interviews with participants. Fees will be paid according to Oral History Australia’s guidelines on fees. Please email a copy of your CV and one page outlining your relevant skills and experience to lucy.davies@grlc.vic.gov.au by 15 November 2024.
Call for participants We are calling on all First Nations people with connections to people and places from across the Borough of Queenscliff, City of Greater Geelong, Colac Otway Shire, Golden Plains Shire and Surf Coast Shire to share their stories of the region’s contemporary history and have them preserved for future generations. Prior to the interview, participants will be provided a consent form to sign with an option to place access conditions on their recording. At the end of the interview, participants will receive a $100 voucher.
