Record result for Food for Fines 2021

Monday 31 January 2022

We were very proud to partner with Geelong Food Relief Centre on the Food for Fines Appeal 2021.

Throughout the Appeal, Geelong Regional Libraries wiped overdue library fines in exchange for the donation of non-perishable food items. The donated food is distributed by Geelong Food Relief Centre to local people experiencing food insecurity.

We were thrilled to hear that our generous community donated a record 3,680kg of food! Thank you to everyone who supported the Appeal.

While we no longer charge overdue fines (read more about that here!) we are looking forward to finding other ways to support the incredible work of Geelong Food Relief Centre in the future. If you would like to support their work, please click here for more information.
