Monday 7 June 2021
From 1 July 2021, the operation of library services from Colac Community Library and Learning Centre, Apollo Bay Library and outreach (mobile library) services in Colac Otway Shire will transition from Corangamite Regional Library Corporation to the Geelong Regional Library Corporation (GRLC).
Existing members of Corangamite Regional Library Corporation with a residential address in Colac Otway Shire will automatically be transferred to a GRLC membership from 1 July 2021. These people will need to collect a new GRLC library card and set a new PIN number with a staff member at Colac or Apollo Bay Library from 1 July.
Temporary disruption to services and library closures
We are working hard to ensure this transition of services is as smooth as possible. However, in order to install our new systems and equipment, the Colac and Apollo Bay Libraries will be closed from 28 to 30 June (inclusive).
Between 24 and 30 June (inclusive), Colac Otway Shire library members will be unable to access their library account online, while we migrate information from the Corangamite Regional Library Corporation system across to our own. You may also be unable to access the eLibrary via the Corangamite Regional Library Corporation website, or log into PCs in branches. We apologise for the inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your patience.
What happens next?
We encourage our new Colac Otway Shire members to visit the Colac or Apollo Bay Libraries from 1 July to pick up their new membership card and welcome pack.
Please also save the date for the week commencing Monday 5 July – we are planning some great events and activities to take place at both Colac and Apollo Bay libraries! We will share more information on our website and social media channels soon.
New members may like to subscribe to our monthly eNewsletter and follow us on social media, to keep up to date with all the news from the library:
