Library closures: Christmas and New Year

Monday 29 November 2021

To allow our community access to library services during the festive period, the following libraries will be open with reduced hours in the days between Christmas and New Year (other than on public holidays):

  • Bannockburn
  • Corio
  • Geelong
  • Ocean Grove
  • Torquay

The remaining libraries in our network will be closed during this period to allow our staff the opportunity to rest and spend time with loved ones. Please see the details of closures in the table below.

Of course, our vast eCollection remains open to you 24/7.

Friday 24 December Open: All library branches open, but will close at 5pm
Closed: Mobile libraries not operating
Saturday 25 December Closed (Christmas Day)
Sunday 26 December Closed (Boxing Day)
Monday 27 December Closed (Public Holiday in lieu of Christmas Day)
Tuesday 28 December Closed (Public Holiday in lieu of Boxing Day)
Wednesday 29 December

Open 9am-5pm: Ocean Grove, Corio and Geelong
Open 10am-5pm: Bannockburn & Torquay

Closed: All other libraries & Geelong Heritage Centre.

Thursday 30 December

Open 9am-5pm: Ocean Grove, Corio and Geelong
Open 10am-5pm: Bannockburn & Torquay 

Closed: All other libraries & Geelong Heritage Centre.

Friday 31 December Open 9am-5pm:  Ocean Grove, Corio and Geelong
Open 10am-5pm: Bannockburn & Torquay

Closed: All other libraries & Geelong Heritage Centre.
Saturday 1 January Closed (New Year’s Day)
Sunday 2 January Open usual hours: Corio, Geelong and Torquay

Closed: All other libraries & Geelong Heritage Centre.
Monday 3 January Closed: (Public Holiday in lieu of New Year’s Day)
Tuesday 4 January Open: Regular opening hours resume at all libraries & Geelong Heritage Centre
