Thursday 9 September
In line with recent Victorian Government advice, we are pleased to announce that Geelong Regional Libraries’ branches and mobile libraries will re-open to the public on Friday 10 September (at the regular opening time).
The health and safety of our community and staff remains our priority as we re-open libraries and resume some services. Hygiene protocols, social distancing and compulsory face masks will continue, while density limits have been reintroduced. This means there may be some time limits on library visits to allow as many community members as possible to access our services. We thank you for your patience and cooperation!
In order to comply with Victorian Government requirements, we will be asking everyone to:
• wear a face covering (unless there is a legal exemption). This applies to everyone 12 years and older.
• complete a QR code check-in upon entry.
Return chutes at all library branches remain open 24/7.
Density limits mean that, unfortunately, our in-person events will be postponed, cancelled or transferred online; you will be contacted if you have booked into a session that is impacted.
We will continue to provide updates about in-person events as we receive further news from the Government about easing of restrictions.
And of course, we ask everyone to please stay home if feeling unwell and get tested if you have COVID-19 symptoms. Our libraries will be open to all residents of Regional Victoria, residents of Metro Melbourne and Greater Shepparton are not permitted to enter as per Government restrictions.
A contactless Click & Collect service is still available Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, and you can place bookings via the online form or by calling your local library. This service is available at all libraries except Western Heights College Library. Find out more here.
We thank you for your continued understanding, patience and support as we re-open libraries and resume services.
